  • Vintage sets on ebay can go for a LOT!

I love sets from the 80's.  I'm not alone, as many AFOL's consider the 1980's the middle of LEGO's ''Golden Age.''  Specifically I have a penchant for construction sets.  (Yes, yes—I realize that all LEGO sets are ''construction'' sets.  I mean the Town sets where there's some kind of heavy machinery, and the minifigs are ...

  • Don't be afraid to spice up that auction listing

At any one time you can find thousands of LEGO auctions on ebay.  Some ebay LEGO sellers are experts in the field, while others are just trying to make a quick buck from something they found at a yard sale, but have no idea what it really is or what it's worth. You can easily tell what kind of seller you're dealing with on ebay by reading ...

  • "Left" and "right" handed castle wall corners

I happened upon this ebay auction today in which the seller lists some black castle corner wall pieces.  Get this—he has both left and right versions of this castle wall corner piece!  I'm surprised that he didn't list the flat wall pieces as north-facing and south-facing. Sometimes the things that nonLEGO people call LEGO pieces just ...

  • Do rare parts make you drool?

I've been watching and bidding on some ebay LEGO auctions by Richard Morton.  Apparently Richard used to be really into LEGO.  He has TONS of rare pieces in new condition.  Several of his auctions are for pieces that have never been in a set. For example he has a bag of 200 clear 1X2 plates with 1 stud up for action right now. ...

  • Are people retarded?

OK, so I realize that the answer to the question of this blog post's title is a resounding ''YES,'' but it's still disheartening to know that we live in a world where this is going on: Ebay auction link It's a LEGO Star Destroyer that's up to $182.50.  No, it's not the original Star Destroyer that retailed for $300.  It's the new ...
