Giant Dragon Project at the Children's Museum

Giant Master Build Event at
The Indianapolis Children's Museum

Join IndyLUG and Master Builders from the LEGO Company September 19-21 at the Indianapolis Children's Museum for a funtastic build event. From 10:00 to 4:00 Friday, Saturday and Sunday people of all ages will be able to help build a huge dragon made out of thousands of LEGO bricks.

The Indianapolis Children's Museum is located at 3000 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46208.

Bloomington Block Party - July 25

When a city has an event called a "Block" Party, IndyLUG just can't resist!

Come join us at the Bloomington Block Party for a family-oriented, free celebration of the arts, crafts and music at The Waldron Arts Center. This annual event is part of the Be Neighborly Bloomington campaign and includes the BAAC, Wonderlab, Rhino's, WFBH, IndyLUG and dozens of hands-on arts activities for children of all ages.

IndyLUG will be providing a mosaic build in which kids may participate. We will also be displaying several of our own creations.

500 Festival Kids Day

IndyLUG will again be displaying at this year's 500 Festival Kid's Day held in downtown Indianapolis on Monument Circle. This year's event is on Sunday May 18th from noon to 4pm. The ever popular LEGO version of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway created by Brian Darrow, will again be one of our attractions. Please come down and visit us! Brickjournal 9 is out

BrickJournal 9 is now available for downloading through its publisher, TwoMorrows. It’s 148 pages of reports and instructions, with event reports of 1000steine-Land, Brickworld, and LEGOFest. There’s also interviews with a couple of Star Wars builders and a Star Wars LEGO designer!

In order to download the magazine, everyone will need to create an account at Twomorrows - this is needed to create a mailing list for the magazine.

With Issue 9, it’s the end of a phase of the magazine. Issue 9 is the last free online issue of BrickJournal, as BrickJournal goes to print! The Journal will be going to Volume 2 - the printed edition, out February 2008!

Come see IndyLUG's

LEGO display at the

By Air, by Rail Festival

July 20-22.

The event will be at the Mt. Vernon Intermediate School, 8414 N 200 W, Fortville, IN (State Road 234).
The dates and times are:

Friday 5 - 9 PM
Saturday 9 AM - 9 PM
Sunday 11 AM - 3 PM

There will also be hot air balloons, 7,500 ft² of model train displays, powered parachutes, air/train art show and sale, remote controlled airplanes and live bands.

In addition to all that, the Festival will be hosting a LEGO contest. Bring your LEGO models to display and have judged by IndyLUG, and you could win a trophy made from LEGO bricks. Trophies will be awarded for the first three places in each age group. There is a $1 entry fee for the contest. More info can be found here.

IndyLUG @ the 500 Festival Kids Day

For the fourth consecutive year, IndyLUG will be displaying at the 500 Festival Kids Day in downtown Indianapolis on Sunday May 20th. Come join the fun! Admission is free and more info can be found here.

BrickWorld 2007 Information

EVENT AND HOTEL RESERVATION WEB SITES OPEN

The Brickworld Team has been hard at work since announcing the event in early December. We are excited to announce the event registration is now open on-line. You can reach the secure registration site through the main Brickworld site: http://www.brickworld.us or directly at: https://registration.brickworld.us.

Brickworld registration fees are $60 for adults and $40 for children. Each attendee will receive an engraved name badge, access to all Brickworld presentations and events, tickets for the attendee raffle, model display space, an opportunity to participate in any or all of the collaborative displays, and much more.

We have also completed negotiations with the brand new 5 star Westin North Shore Hotel. The Ravinia Ballroom shall serve as the primary event venue. And, we have secured a 50% discount off of the standard room rate for Brickworld attendees. Rooms are $115/night. The hotel has created a Brickworld web site that allows you to register on-line at:

The hotel also has many amenities and nearby attractions including several restaurants in the hotel and a day spa adjacent to the hotel – making this a great venue for Non-Lego Significant Others (NLSOs). Please monitor the “Attractions” tab found within the “Information” section of the Brickworld registration site for more information.

More information on the Ravinia Ballroom and setup: The ballroom provides us 15,000 square feet of area for the main event space. The room setup will include an area called Buy Your Own Bricks (BYOB) for vendors, areas for each collaborative display in the center of the display area and tables that will be reserved by attendee name along the walls of the room for MOCs that are not part of the collaborative displays. Collaborative displays include: Train & Town, Great Ball Contraption, Castle, Moon Base, and Mecha City.

Correction: We would also like to make a correction to our first announcement. We originally identified the 3 Chicago Area Lego Stores as Lego Outlets, they are indeed Lego Stores.

We are aware of the security certificate mismatch and are working to correct the problem. We apologize for any annoyance this causes as you access the site. Overall the site is still maturing.
